Bad just got worse.
The Boston Globe is reporting the Red Sox fired two security guards last summer after it was discovered that the guards were using steroids.
According to the Globe, police confiscated a vial of steroids from an automobile belonging to guard Nicholas Alex Cyr. Cyr allegedly told police he purchased the vial from fellow guard Jared Remy. The Red Sox assisted Major League Baseball in an investigation into the matter, which did not uncover the source of the steroids.
The timing of the report could not have come at a worse time for the Red Sox, who are dealing with news of David Ortiz’s positive performance-enhancing drug test in 2003.
